Common resident of commons, wet and dry meadows and pastures, roadbanks and woodland rides and clearings.

Cirsium palustre, C. vulgare, C. arvense, C. eriophorum and probably other thistle spp. with larva feeding in July and September in a branching mine aong the midrib of a leaf.
