Fairly common resident.

Ulmus spp. with larva mining leaves in a flat, 'necked', recumbent, bivalved case over two years in a similar way to C. alnifoliae, except that the final case is larger and longer, and can be found feeding from May to the end of July, the imagine emerging the following year.
