Uncommon resident.

Alnus glutinosa and A. incana with larva mining leaves in a small, flat, bivalved case in autumn from September. It then overwinters, feeds in a slightly larger second case from June to August, then a larger, long, flat case in autumn, with imagine emerging the following year, a two year life cycle.
