Local in much of the region, though no confirmed records from Shropshire.

Found mainly in ancient woodland with crab apple present. Mostly mines the leaves of Malus sylvestris and occasionally apple cultivars with larva feeding in July and September/October. In a mine on the underside of a leaf.
