A local heathland species. Only 2 post 2000 records in Staffordshire.

Erica cinera, Calluna vulgaris, Polygala spp.,Thymus spp., with larva feeding from September to June in a tubular, frass-covered web.

Adults are readily disturbed during the day and fly from dusk onward, comes to light.

First Recorded in 1904.
Last Recorded in 2019.
