Very local resident, only recorded from the Stiperstones, Shropshire and north Staffordshire.

A species of moorland and upland heath. Larvae feed on a wide variety of moorland plants, including Potentilla spp., Calluna and Vaccinium. Males can be found flying on sunny days.
