Fairly common resident.

Most easily recorded from leaf mines on Populus nigra and var. italica, P. x canadensis and P. balsamifera with larva feeding in June / July and September / October. In a gallery mine containing either linear or dipersed frass.

Recorded in 50 (36%) of 140 10k Squares.
