A common resident found across the region.
Found in open woodland, scrub, roadside verges etc.
Overwinters as a pupa while adults fly from dusk but may also be disturbed during the day.
Note Similar to Small Rivulet but in that species the white cross-band has a double indentation rather than a single one on its inner edge and also, more often, a fainter cross-line nearer the base. Recorded in 106 (76%) of 140 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1887. Last Recorded in 2023. (Data up to end 2023) |
